much is afoot; lots is happening.

i have returned, rather safely, to my beloved hometown. while i admit to having a somewhat-angsty love/hate relationship with Monroeville, i almost kissed the ground upon returning. the 14-hour bus ride was a painful experience, complete with weird Rabbi's who slept with one shoe and sock off, and a big lady that smelled like farts every time she moved. i slept away an hour of the ride, leaving the other 13 hours to be consumed by Zoolander, half of Labyrinth (the portable dvd played died on us), listening to Maylene and the Sons of Disaster (which is actually pretty good, at least to me.), writing a letter, staring off into nothingness, wishing i was dead, etc, etc, etc.

once in Rhode Island, we did fun stuff like watch tv and meet people with weird accents who were also very nice. for some reason i automatically assumed that the strange accent meant that they were mentally slower than i, resulting in me treating a handful of strangers as if they were small children, rather than level-headed adults. why? beats me.

the wedding itself was nice, and how could it not be? we only rehearsed it 1400 times the day before. i didn't cry, i didn't lose the rings, and i didn't trip on the way down the steps. success! and the ceremony was nice too. afterwards, we had a dazzling photo shoot in front of a lake. i heard that one photo may make the cover of Rhode Island Wedding Magazine. i gave a phenomenal speech at the reception, and then sat with Chris as everyone pretended we were invisible, with the exception of the guy serving wine.

to cap it all off, as if the ride there wasn't bad enough, we rode home with Matt's parents. with his dad at the helm of what he thought was a stunt car, we careened in and out of traffic, weaving a deadly line back to Monroeville. i genuinely feared for my life.

we made it, and not a moment too soon, as the weeks to come promise to be 'kinda busy'. tomorrow we are playing our 2nd show and i am happy.
